Disaster Responder Assets Network Call-to-Action

An Urgent Message from DRAN

Providing Crisis Support for Our Front Line Responders and Healthcare Professionals

The Disaster Responder Assets Network (DRAN) is a volunteer non-profit (501c3) organization comprised of men and women that have dedicated their lives to the service of others. Each of us has experience as emergency and disaster responders, bringing a depth and breadth of experience that when combined creates a force far greater than the sum of its parts. We understand that the key to successfully handling any major emergency or disaster, be it natural or manmade, is to take a holistic approach.

First, people must be prepared before disaster strikes, predicting what’s likely to occur in a given location and taking thoughtful, proactive steps.

Second, timely action and effective connectivity is essential during any incident; its importance is magnified during large-scale disasters. Therefore, our primary function is to serve as “one-stop shopping” for emergency responders seeking information, communication and resources when it’s most needed and hardest to acquire.

Third, it is imperative for our community to provide mutual support in the aftermath, both in the form of timely, honest debriefs and the mental health assets and resources needed to sustain our emergency responders for the next battle.

To do this, DRAN needs your help and support! We are looking for individuals to join our DRAN team, able to volunteer time and/or resources to help those affected by the disasters that occur in and around Northern California. We are looking for individuals with the experience and time to aid or give peer support, to provide resources to those in need, and the ability to communicate effectively to problem solve.

DRAN has an Emergency Resource Directory to help our emergency responders in need in the Northern California area. Some examples of needed resources are home relocation services, assistance with pets while deployed, insurance claim advice, evacuation assistance and anything else that might affect our emergency responders before, during and after a disaster response. With recent disasters, including the recent fires devastating our communities, we need to have these resources available immediately.

If you believe you have something to offer, please contact us as soon as possible at admin@disasterassets.org. Please include in your email your name, contact information (phone & email), general location and what resources you can offer our emergency responders in need.

The next major emergency or disaster is always just beyond the horizon. By working together, we can tackle them in a safer, more effective manner that preserves lives and property, all the while making our collective efforts more efficient. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to helping each other in the future!

Sincerely,
